A Bit About Me
My life experiences, both working outside the home and raising a family, led me to pursue a second career in counselling. After working as a crisis line support worker for several years, I realized my desire to help had grown from helping callers get through the crisis of the moment, to wanting to accompany people as they struggle with life transitions, immediate and ongoing concerns, and personal growth. I am humbled by the life stories my clients have shared with me and I am honoured to witness their courage to grow and make changes. I am an optimist and believe change is possible at any stage of life.
My Experience
My years as a crisis line support worker has taught me the importance of listening and ensuring that people really feel heard. Too often, people bear their suffering alone, and sharing such suffering is often the first step towards healing. We all have a fundamental need to connect and to be heard.
I work with adult clients who are struggling with many diverse issues such as: life and family transitions, grief and loss, anxiety, stress/life balance, relationship concerns (couples), communication issues, depression, the impact of Alzheimer’s Disease and family caregiver stress.
